How about recs for an authentic classic Reuben in the Hartford metro area? Also would love to know about great sandwich places in general. Thanks.

My recommendation for the best Reuben closest to Hartford is Sally and Bob's Eatery on N. Main Street in West Hartford.

Outside of Hartford--Rein's Deli in Vernon and Pastrami on Wry in Manchester.

Got a Reuben at Pastrami on Wry today...beautifully grilled, just the right amount of pastrami to get your mouth over, etc. They've got the proportions just right for my taste. BUT the surprise was the great-tasting potato salad...just like home-made...could have made a lunch of just that. The cole slaw is German style, quite vinegary but a great accompaniment to the sandwich. On to West Hartford...

Half Door on the corner of Sisson and Farmington makes a great reuben.
