Sandwiches in SF similar to Berkeley's Intermezzo?

I love the giant sandwiches at Intermezzo on Telegraph in Berkeley- thick sliced homemade bread, fresh ingredients and sprouts on everything. Is there anywhere in SF that serves similar sandwiches?

Doesn't Intermezzo have a new name?

Specialties might fit the bill, various locations downtown.

Agreed, that sounds like the Specialities-type sandwich.

I, too, love Intermezzo. I haven't found anything that comes close. Specialty's does use some sprouts on some of their sandwich and fresh ingredients so I can see the comparison, but that's where the similarities end. No thick sliced homemade honey wheat bread. No BLTA. Great cookies though.

Intermezzo is head and shoulders above the rest of the sandwich places out there.

Sorry, I don't have an answer, but if anyone knows a place that specifically has a tofu burger like Intermezzo's and/or that poppyseed dressing, I'd love to not have to venture across the bay!
