At Pied de Cochon, is it possible to walk in and get seats right away?

Or is it booked week/months in advance and you gotta get a reservation?

Yes it's possible for early or late dining; if you're alone, the probabily to have a place at the bar is not greater but still possible (more so at the "second" bar, the one not directly in front of the kitchen)
Me think you could get a reservation couple of weeks ahead of time, that't what I did last time I made a reservation there.

(see other recent post about reservation taken a few months before that did not went well).

Phew, I thought PDC was one of those extra posh joints.

I've never had a problem going in alone.

We were there last night - it was still packed when we left at around 9:30. When we were waiting to be seated (about 30 minutes after our reservation time), everyone that walked in without a reservation was turned away. Maybe because it was a holiday weekend.

The restaurant is definitely not super posh but a fun, lively, enjoyable and definitely different place to visit.

when friends have come from out of town(not a large group) they always seemed to get squeezed in, if you are from out of town you might be able to negotiate getting a place "since you came so far for the experience!"

If the restaurant is full, it is full! You will not get seated regardless of where you are from.
