Cheapie Breakfasts in Sydney CBD

Travelling to Sydney again in June and normally have breakfast at either our hotel buffet or Pancakes on the Rocks. Every now and again, I'd see a little cafe or hole in the wall that would have a 'big breakfast' for around $8 or $9. But then I don't see them again. And the hotel buffet is $30 each - which is exy no matter how good it is. And I'm a bit lazy to walk from Wynyard to Darling Harbour first thing in the morning (and I don't like the one at The Rocks).

We're staying at Wynyard, so any places that have a cheap bacon/egg or other kind of filling wintery breakfast for under $10 per person would be great (anywhere from Wynyard to The Rocks)

Anyone know of any?

I very rarely have hotel breakfasts, on our last trip we simply "followed the suits" and picked cafes that looked like they were busy and popular. Office workers are choosy and tend to move on to a new place of quality falls.

IMO you will struggle between Wynard and theRocks as it is a bit touristy, and there isn't much to choose from. Try heading the opposite way into the CBD, or heading underground into "Hunter Street Connection" (from Wynard Station it is a underpass with shops used by lots of commuters ) as there are lots of cafes etc down here. Often the cafes will be out of the way as rents are cheaper if they are not on a main street like George or Pitt.

Sydney CBD is full of cafes doing brisk trade Monday to Friday.
You'll get a decent breakfast just about anywhere for less than AUD15.
Pick somewhere that has a discerning queue of suits for takeaway coffees, and can smell bacon and coffee from outside and you'll be sorted.
