Cava

Any suggestions for a good but inexpensive one?

oh sorry... guess "clunky" means "unfocused", I missed that... but still don't know what that means. I like Cristalino but I'm no expert!

I guess depends what you call inexpensive... I like Segura Viudas Aria for around $10, but LOVE the Reserva Heredad in the pewter bottle for anywhere from $17-$20... Also Casteller makes a good brut as well as rose cava for $10-$13. My favorite for under $10 is Cristalino, have no idea what "clunky" means...

                    Clunky?

I don't find it particularly clunky, whatever that means. The basic Cristalino is a well made cheap sparkler and I prefer it to any domestic bubbly at the same price.

I'll third that Cristalino is very cheap (the local grocery chains here often have them on sale for $5.50 per bottle or less if bought in qtys of 6) and very drinkable. Perfect bubbly to make mimosas in quantity for weekend brunches (or whenever you feel like a mimosa!!).

Clunky=clumsy or unfocused. If I'm drinking a sparkler, I want it to be focused.
I agree with Eugene below that this wine is great for Mimosas...and that's what I mean...something to round out the rough edges...distract your palate.
