If you are like me, you love hot and spicy stuff, but are always disappointed by commercial potato chips that are labeled “chipotle” or “hot” or “jalapeno” or whatever, since they are not that hot. This thing is a happy exception: it is positively the hottest chips I have ever had.
It is labeled “Select 7 Kettle Style Potato Chips: fiery habanero”. Problem: the label is a rather generic, beige color; there are several different flavors, but the labels all look the same except for the flavor in a red banner about 1/3 from the top of the bag. It is also a bargain: you get 1.5 oz for 79¢. The entire bag is only 230 calories, and only half is from carbs, so if you are on a low carb diet, this one works.
If you like hot stuff, pick up a bag next time you are in 7-11 buying soda. I love it.

Thanks for the tip. I will be on the lookout for these. I too am always on the lookout for the spicier items. I used to like the TGIF habanero "potato skins" potato chips. These were actually pretty spicy, but that flavor was phased out of Florida about 4 years ago and I haven't seen it since. The best regularly available spicy chip around here is Kettle Brand "Death Valley Chipotle". It is only a little bit spicy but actually has some hot pepper flavor. Archer Farms at Target makes a good hot and spicy kettle chip as well.

I tried the 7-11 chips today and they are pretty spicy - spicier than any other locally available chip. I wish they were available in larger bags, though. They taste like bbq chips upfront and then the spice slowly creeps up on you.

Yeah, you're right about these. The chips don't taste hot at all - at first. Then, ol' Capt. Casin starts scrapin' at the back of your throat. NIce!

Grassy-ass, jerry! Much obliged.

They were good, but nowhere as hot as I expected them to be after reading this thread. I'll have them again.
