Finally got over to Myers and Chang on Washington Street in the South End this week. Tried out a number of dishes, with most of them being very good to excellent. There were a couple of standouts, including the short rib tacos, which they just added to their permanent menu. The mix of meat, radishes, chili-sesame salsa, and pears made for a juicy, messy, sweet-and-savory concoction that was beyond delicious.

I'm glad they added this dish to their full-time menu. It's a pretty good bargain at $11.00 (for three tacos), and definitely worth getting if you like short ribs.

Not to digress too much, but Boston-area restaurants really need to follow Myers + Chang, Tupelo, and a handful of others and start getting on Twitter (and FB too). Both are indeed really powerful (and free) marketing tools.

Speaking of Myers and Chang, their chicken and rapini stir-fry may have been even better than the tacos. The smoky flavor coming out of the chicken was outstanding, and the toasted garlic and hot peppers added even more to the flavor.

Amazingly delicious, but they really need to add a second layer of soft corn tortillas, something every taqeuro on even the crappiest L.A. taco truck knows to do. Most tacos need this to avoid falling apart, especially saucy ones like the M+C short rib tacos. (You too, La Verdad.)

Chang Myers Thinkg of going 2 dbl tortilla shell on tacos at @mcslimjb's suggestion. Saucy messy filling demands it. CMyers right on money w this one.

Lord knows I have no business advising the eminently talented chefs at places like Myers + Chang. I just repeated a trope I've been whipping here for a couple of years now, which is that most cheap, authentic taquerias and taco trucks do two layers of soft corn tortillas. Saucy tacos fall apart otherwise. I'm just defending taco canon.

I like the fact that M+C is doing something novel to Boston, bringing a bit of L.A. weirdness, a Korean gloss on truck tacos. Whatever the provenance, they're really delicious -- they'd just be better if they held together to the last bite. The folks at M+C are gifted, really smart; I'm guessing they connected those dots on their own before I ever mentioned it.

Due to this revue we headed over to try the 'tacos' Loved the filling, didn't like the shell at all, and yes they double them up. I think it is just a personal thing about the flavor and texture. Loved the fried rice and the depth of flavours.
