Kid friendly foodie restuarants in Menlo Park area

Hi,
We'll be visiting the Menlo Park area with our 4 and 1 year old children and were wondering about kid friendly restaurants that have great food.
Thanks for any suggestions!

We raised our son in Menlo Park. All his friends loved to meet at Dutch Goose, a local favorite (NOT fancy, peanut shells on the floor, sit on benches, that kind of thing. But you'll see a lot of Little League teams there, a lot of soccer teams, it's that well known locally).

Crepes Cafe and Cafe Borrone are good choices.

Juban on Santa Cruz Ave. is fun because you can cook your own food on a hot plate, and they ARE kid-friendly. My son and his friends loved to eat there.

My kids really enjoy Crepes Cafe & Cafe Borrone, both with outdoor seating. We've always gone for lunch to Crepes Cafe & the kids' standard is the charcuterie plate & a dessert crepe (haven't had a savory one, more wary of these). Cafe Borrone is an upscale coffehouse with a lively scene & is also adjacent to a great, independently owned bookstore (lots of space to roam around outside). Their blueberry biscuit/scone available at breakfast is a *must*.

We also have eaten at most places with our kids over the years - and most places do fine. Few have kids menus so you might pay more. I personally don't like Left Bank, but my kids do. Kan Zeman and Sultana are kid friendly food. My kids love Indian and Mexican, and so we often travel a bit for those. Del Sol in MP has decent Mexican.

I agree: del sol in MP is highly underrated, kids or no.

Can you be more specific on what kind of food? Most restaurants in the area are good for kids, esp if you dine on the early side. In the Menlo Park/PA area, you can go to Left Bank (French brasserie), Palermo (Italian), Sultana (Turkish/Med), Mayfield (American bistro), Tamarine (nouveau Vietnamese), Junnoon (nouveau Indian). The list goes on and on - I've taken my kids to all of them, multiple times...

Thanks for the suggestions! We usually eat pretty early. My son particularly enjoys a good Charcuterie plate. Our 1 year old daughter is pretty active and doesn't sit still for long, so big booths and restaurants that are more noisy tend to be better. We're very flexible in regard to cuisine.

I believe Left Bank has a good charcuterie plate and certainly a good kid's menu. Plus most excellent fries!

I can't really imagine an active one year old at Junoon or Tamarine. Ok, I can imagine an active one year old at the next table, and I imagine being peeved. I think it really depends on the kids. I know some really calm one year olds, and some really active. Same thing with 4 year olds.

Both are fairly formal, tight seating, and fill up so you can't easily switch to a quieter seat. Both do have a few booths - the "bar booth" at Junoon might work, if available - you can take the kids outside to their little patio area (where they haven't been serving recently) if they get rambunctious. The bar area at Mantra might work. Zibbibbo might be ok - more open seating, less crowded.

Tamarine did a good job of accommodating us with our 20 month old, put us at the end of a row with a high chair (I find our daughter does better in a high chair than when we let her on her own in a booth). It is a very crowded restaurant though.

Zibbibbo is definitely ok as it's nearly empty these days (but, IMHO, that's because its gone so far down hill, we probably won't ever go back).
