Msp- Smashburger [Moved from Midwest Board]

  • 1

this is my first post, so i figured make it a good one(forgive the bad grammar/english/spelling)
well it just opened within the last week i believe, but i have to say, i'm impressed!

It's located on silver lake road in new brighton/st anthony south of 694, its right by the st anthony village(not sure what its called) its where the old apache mall used to be

anyways, you walk in, and it looks like its trying to be retro similar to porky's, and you walk up to the counter, order your burger/sides/drink, and they give you a little number tag similar to a pager thing at the some places, but not as fancy, you see the price, OK, $6 for a burger it better be good, right? cause $6 at some places can get you a mighty fine combo meal at some fast food chains, but hey, im willing to try anything at least twice... sorta took a while to get the food, but it was super busy and they just opened, so i was willing to forgive as they probably weren't in their rhythm yet

i had the twin cities smashburger, which isnt on the smashburger website yet, as again, it just opened, and i cannot remember off the top of my head what was on there, other than the american cheese, swiss, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, mayo, and some other stuff im sure, but it was pretty darn good, at least the best burger ive had in the cities in a while

hopefully burger jones will outdo this cause its closer to my work, but i will be going back to smashburger again, it was DELICIOUS!

  1. What's up with this violence against burgers? These guys "smash" the burger on the grill. I was recently at a Baker's Square, where the menu features "crushburgers."

When I make burgers I handle them gently. Too much rough treatment and they turn into dense meatloaf pucks.
