Commanders dress code

I just made a reservation at Commanders Palace for luch on June 12. On their website it stated that jackets were required at dinner. When I got the confirmation for the lunch it stated that jackets were required for the gentleman. I thought at lunch you could get by with slacks and a nice shirt. Can anyone talk from experience?

My husband sometimes wears a (casual) linen suit to lunch (depending on the occasion) but has worn slacks and a nice shirt. I don't think the gentleman in your party will feel out of place in a dress shirt and slacks, as you will see both that and suits/jackets. You may want to take a jacket in the car just in case and if he feels more comfortable he can wear it.

Business casual. I don't think jackets have been required post Katrina. That being said, my husband always wears a sport coat even if it's just over a silk T.

We're flying in from Wisconsin so we are trying to limit our baggage. You just can't pack everything you want to take along these days!!

Then I would say ditch the sports coat and travel lightly. He will be fine in slacks and a dress shirt. You may want to request seating in the Garden Room if you have not already done so, as that is the best lunchtime seating.

Ditto the garden room IMO, best seating in the evening as well.
