A new place has just opened in the little plaza on Millwood Road at Sutherland Dr in Leaside (the plaza with the licence office). They've moved in to what used to be the Chinese restaurant space. It's called Rixo Grill...apparently they used to be on O'Connor Dr just east of Pape.

Anyone know anything about the food?

I live just down the street from their old spot. Funny, it's a Chinese restaurant that moved into their old space on O'Connor. I hope Rixo has better success on Millwood than he did on O'Connor; there was never a soul in the place.

As for the new Chinese restaurant, I've done takeout there about five times and the food is decent but nothing special. The young man behind the counter is always wanting feedback on the menu and will try to prepare anything for you that you may like but is not on the menu. A very nice guy.

It's Serbian. Schnitzels, cevapi, grilled meat, spinach pies, burek, etc. Frozen food to go, too.

Might have to give this a try soon!

Haven't had any great Serbian or Yugoslavian experiences in TO, to tell you the truth. My last good experience was in the Garment District in NYC last December!

The best homestyle Croatian meal I've experienced was in Ottawa at Dalmacia on Carling 2 years ago, but I understand they merged with Amber Garden (more Polish, with some Hungarian dishes AFAIK) and I don't know if the cook changed after the merger. Looks like the current menu has a little bit from most of the major players in Eastern Europe- a Pan-Eastern European restaurant :-) http://www.ambergarden.net/
