My usual LI seafood pick in Port Washington, Louies, was even more mobbed than usual for Mother's Day, so we went to Canterbury Ales in Oyster Bay. Hadn't been for a long time. Great international beer selection. Great oyster selection naturally. Mrs. GG celebrated her day with crab cakes and a delicious scallop, spinach, musroom dish on a bed of squid ink flavored "black" rice. My daughter was happy with the shrimp cocktail and burger. My oysters were very fresh and the beer battered shrimp & chips were the best I've ever had. Sat in the back room dubbed the Sagamore Library, a shrine to homeboy Teddy Roosevelt. This ain't your ordinary bar food.
