Late lunch in the City?

Hi there, this is my first post on Chowhound!

I'm attending my other half's MBA graduation ceremony tomorrow at the Guildhall, Chesham St. Looking for somewhere great to eat after the reception - but it doesn't finish until 3pm.

Any recommendations for late brasserie style lunch in the Square Mile?

Thanks.

Lori

Thanks for the recommendations - especially Bouchon Breton which I will definitely check out another time! In the end we opted for tapas at Eyre Bros on Leonard St, which was a good choice. The staff were lovely to our large group of rather enebriated MBA grads and although the choice of tapas was quite limited (grilled chorizo, gambas al pil pil, olives etc.) the quality of ingredients was superb, as was the execution.

Would like to try the actual restaurant which looked lovely, nice long light room balancing the moodiness of the dark wood.

Now if only I could find a quick way of eliminating the hangover brought on by 10 hours of drinking!

You could try Manicomio, a nice little Italian cafe on Gutter Lane. It's less than five minutes away, and is a little on the pricey side, but it's a great place to sit down and chill out in.

3pm is a good starting time for tea as well. Just in case you're considering that possibility, I do like tea at the Threadneedles hotel - very solid food offerings, atmospheric and luxe interiors.
