  1. I haven't been in a few years, but I used to enjoy White Swan BBQ in Kinston.

    1. Wilber's BBQ is one of the top eastern NC bbq joints, is in Goldsboro and is directly on your route. King's BBQ in Kinston is good, although not as good as Wilber's. There's an excellent seafood market/restaurant in New Bern called Tryon Palace Seafood that uses all local seafood. Try the fish stew if they're serving it. They also have excellent scallop/shrimp/oyster burgers.

I haven't gotten to do any research in this vein(in terms of personally checking out the restaurants) down that way, but there are loads of taquerias around Goldsboro and Kinston. Here are the listings I have:

      TAQUERIA ZAPOPAN
      2304 S NC 111 HWY
      GOLDSBORO, NC 27534

      TAQUERIA EL CORRAL
      400 S NC 111 HWY
      GOLDSBORO, NC 27534

      LONCHERIA SELENA
      6101 E US 70 HWY

      TAQUERIA DON MARTIN
      2342 HWY 11/55 S
      KINSTON, NC 28504

      LA INDIA BONITA
