hyde park eats

i'll be visiting in late june and staying by hyde park, northern side.
coming from the bay area, i'm used to diverse, fresh, good eats (which i know all chowhounds are particular to!)
i was wondering if anyone had a good suggestion for a lunch & dinner place,
preferably someplace that's "a good bang for buck," and prob no more than 40 pounds per person per meal... thanks!
oh, and no indian restaurants.

If you're willing to get on the tube for 5 to 10 minutes or dont mind splashing out on a cab (best in the world - so worth the price I would say) all of central London is at your doorstep- so would recommend searching through the London centric posts.

Though if your based near Lancaster gate or close - you have Notting Hill to Marylebone close by.

Top picks for me in those areas would be

Hereford Road - a bit of nose to tail eating
Le Café Anglais - modern euro for lack of a better term
    Galvin Bistrot de Luxe
    Locanda Locatelli - Italian
Golden Hind - fish & chips
    Tomoe - Japanese
    Dinings - Japanese
Al Waha - great Lebanese - and they deliver
Alounak - Iranian across the street from above
Providores - though from recent posts this may be slipping
Gold Mine - great cantonese roast duck
    C&R - malaysian
Nipa - Thai in the Royal Lancaster Hotel - only been twice - though great views and pretty good Thai.

Though if you're willing to travel a bit there are countless other great places to eat.
