I went to the NEW Location for the Hayward Farmers Market. It's at 777 B St, the Hayward City Hall Plaza area. Watkins & B Street. I took Bart there and it's just 1 block away from Downtown Hayward Bart Station.

Since I got there early I was able to walk around without many people around. I was looking for the FREE tote bag for the first 50 people. Since I couldn't find it I went back to the Information Booth and they were just starting to give them away. I was about the 10th person. They made you fill out your name, address, & email to get one. It's a nice, strong, canvas farmers market bag that says "Hayward Farmers Market" and they usually sell it for $12!

They also had a cherry tasting from 4 farmers that were there selling cherries. I liked Hamada Farms, Kingsburg
Cherries: $3/lb or 2lb/$5

I also got:
Bee Pollen from Joe's Honey, from Hayward $8 small bear of it

Quail eggs from Olivera Egg Ranch $1.25 a pack

Melter Honey from Palomino Family Farms - small glass jar for $4.5

Stuff I saw:
Gold Rush Kettle Korn

Tamales "Mexicanos" 2647 International Blvd #104, Oakland w/ a sign for aguas frescas, fruit cocktail, tamales: chicken, pork, or cheese
1 for $2.5; 6 for $12; 12 for $24

Asian Cuisine booth - ready to eat.

Soleil's African Kitchen - ready to eat food. hey have Zipicailidipi Sauce - a sweet & spicy sauce. I didn't try it, but it's sold in a plastic bottle 16oz. I didn't catch the price. Good for putting on grilled & fried foods.

Fresh asparagus $2.25 a bundle

Sweet sugar peas $1.5/lb

Brooks cherries $3 basket/2lb $5
Goose egg $1 ea
Salted Duck 1doz/$10
Duck Penoy 1/2 doz $4.5/ 1 doz $9

Cauliflower $2 ea; broccoli $1/lb

Strawberries: 2.5 basket/3pk for $6

A jumping thing for kids, a jazz band, some other booths near City Hall, bakery, crafts, etc. Also saw:
Home Maid Italian Market Place - ravioli, didn't even look.
Great Harvest Bread Company - didn't even look.
Santa Cruz Pasta Factory - didn't even look.

NO Pets at the Farmers Market people!

Hrs:
Sat. 9-1

Parking on the street, Hayward Bart, or Lucky's shopping center.

The prices look better than some and there are a few vendors. Seems like Home Maid is branching out. I've seen them a lot lately.Has anyone tried them?
