Best Jamaican in the BX?
I already know about the Feeding Tree on Gerard an 161st (try the oxtail), I know there has to be some other good spots esp White Plaines road area. Any suggestions?

A bit off White Plains Road, but did you catch this recent tip about Boston Jerk Cuisine? ... http://www.chow.com/outer_boroughs_digest/7401
And in Morrisania (or is that Longwood?) there's Kaylah's Hut ... http://www.chow.com/outer_boroughs_di...

Agreed on Vernon's - not worth the trip (unless you live a block away maybe). Not all that impressed with Feeding Tree or Kaylah's Hut either - meals ranged from just ok to pretty good. (I'd swear consistently better jerk is available at the street cart at 51st/7th Ave in Manhattan.) I do love the spicy carrot cake at Concourse Jamaican Bakery on 167th just E of Grand Concourse. Good patties too. But overall I've yet to find anything in The Bronx that equals the Brooklyn options for Jamaican.

Close enough to the Bronx, I learned of this place only after watching Bobby Flay go against him in an episode of Throwdown. I don't know how the quality is, but apparently he makes a good jerk steak.

I'd be interested in hearing about the same. Lots fo places around the 2. Not Jamaican per se, but I believe its an Indo-Trini place called Ali's Roti Shop is pretty good. Mostly a takeout place, but they have a couple of stools with window seats.
I'd also be interested in hearing about Vernon's Jerk House on 233rd. I've read mixed reviews about it.
There's aparently a somewhat gourmet Jamaican place up on the border with Mt. Vernon. I don't know if that's what you're looking for though. Most Jamaican food in the area is pretty affordable.

Great I'll check those out, I live right over the bridge and I know nothing about the food on 233rd and White Plaines. I'm surprised with such a huge Jamaican population there aren't any great finds. I wish the Bronx would step up its food game. My neighborhood's food offerings are piss poor. Our best options are actually in Yonkers.
