One meal in St. Petersburg

Four of us will be in St. Petersburg for three days in late August on a cruise. Although we are not getting the Russian visa, the ship can arrange for a guide and driver to escort us to dinner
at a local restaurant. Not cheap but it will be divided by four . . . So if you were a foodie (aren't we all at Chowhound?) and could have one distinctive meal there, where would it be?

I'm going to be in St. P as well in August and interested in anything anyone might have to say. I'll have a guide and driver so can go anywhere but planning to head to a club off Nevsky Prospekt after so being able to stroll from restaurant to club would be appealing though I'll take quality over quantity. I am leaning toward Bellevue Brasserie on the top of the Kempinski Hotel as it has a jaw-dropping view of the city, great location and good food.

Dagny, Since no chowhounds responded, I did some research and opted for Palkin. Some
publications said "if you have one meal in St. P, eat here." Have you heard of it?
