Wanted to do a quick post since these boards are always so helpful to me. Went to Peppercorns on Park Ave in Worcester, Friday night with my husband and 2 kids ages 10 and 8. Were pleasantly surprised at how good our food was. (We were originally going to Via....but our sitter cancelled.)

I ordered the special "Chicken Agosto" which was a boneless breast sauteed with portobello and shitake mushroomsm garlic, prosciutto, sundried tomatoes and asparagus in a wine/chicken stock reduction. It was served with pasta purses stuffed with ricotta and truffles in a sage butter. Very good and reasonable at only $16.99.

My husband had the filet mignon special for $19.99. It was cooked in a Cabernet/Shallot demi-glace and served with mascarpone mashed potatoes. Also very good.

The kids ordered a bacon cheeseburger which was huge and a personal size bacon pizza. The pizza was excellent and we enjoyed leftovers the next day.

I was happy to find a place that we could get a good meal and also please the kids at the same time without breaking the bank. Will go back.

Thanks for the info. I'm a little surprised though that you canceled your Via plans b/c kids were in tow. I find it a very family friendly environment, with a nice kid's menu.

I guess I just cancelled Via because I figured Peppercorns would be a little less money. I guess I just have it in my head that Via is one of our favorite places to go "without" the little darlings.
