Two I was reminded of after a long absence:

Mustard-Crusted BBQ Salmon w/mashed potatoes @ Bricco, W. Hartford
(easily my favorite salmon preparation anywhere, and the spuds are my idea of perfect)

White Clam Pizza (w/garlic, no mozz) @ Pepe's The Spot, New Haven
(I really don't like clams, with very few exceptions, this being a major one. And life's too short to wait on line for the regular Pepe's next door.)

And two that I have trouble not ordering whenever I visit:

Crab & avocado salad @ Mickey's, Hamden
(not on the menu, but a frequent special (and it is, especially in summer) )

Duck à l'orange @ La Brétagne, Stamford
(THE classic presentation, expertly & deftly carved tableside by a gentleman who presumably can do it in his sleep. Really old school (vielle école), and I fear for how much longer it may be around.)

Lemon cake - HeritageTrails Vineyards, Lisbon CT. Thanks to the reviews here on chowhound we visited in July. Everything was wonderful but if I had to pick the best - it was that cake.

Any ice cream - Salem Valley, Salem, CT. I've decided I just need to start ordering alphabetically - that way I won't take 10 min deciding.

Hot caramel sundae - UConn Dairy bar. Of course the ice cream is great but to be able to get HOT caramel put it over the top.

annl, I'll second your vote for coleslaw at Lenny & Joe's. I love their fried scallop roll, too--either location (Westbrook or Madison, CT). If you like their coleslaw and ever get to Rocky Hill, stop into West Side Market at the bottom of the hill that leads to Century Hills. It is right up there with L&J's! :)

And it's been years, but yes, Salem Valley Farms ice cream is wonderful. I used to make a road trip for it fairly regularly.
