Help!! My 21st Birthday is coming up, no clue what to do!!

I turn 21 on August 21st and I want to have a nice dinner and hit up a club/bar afterwards. It would be a party of 6-10 people, everyone is over 21. Price range would be 20-30 per person, not including drinks. I live in Orange County and wouldn't mind going to Newport, Laguna, San Diego, Los Angeles and anywhere in between. I'm totally open to anything. Possibly thinking about getting a hotel where we go so we don't drink and drive. I really wan't this to be a special night! I'm not a big partier but I'm looking to let loose ;)

I think you should totally come down to San Diego for the weekend. You can get an awesome deal on a downtown hotel on priceline or hotwire. 4 star hotel at the beginning of Gaslamp and I know rooms have been going for about $ 90 to $150 a night. If thats out of your budget there are still nice 3 star hotels right in the middle of the city. If you do come downtown, I would go to red pearl kitchen for dinner. Its a cool asian fusion place but the portions are really large, they are made to be served family style so it will make things cheaper because your guests can share. Then there is another place called La Puerta, its got a great Happy hour Margarita special, they serve 10 different $4-$5 dollar Margarita's and $10 burrito's but they are amazing! As for going out on a budget, I recommend the Shout House, its a dueling paino bar, its very popular with the special event crowds. Its fun because they play everything on the piano's but you will actually be able to enjoy the company of your friends without being in a stuffy dance club.

I've decided to come down to San Diego :) I'm so stoked and looking forward to it. Can you give me more dinner places? What about bars/clubs?

      Hi:

If you have suggestions to make that are in the region covered by the California board, please do post them here. We've removed some general posts on how to celebrate one's 21st birthday, and suggestions that the poster go out of state.

For suggestions in the Los Angeles / Orange County area, please post on the OP's thread on the Los Angeles board:

      Thank you.
