Tips for Dining, Eating and Food Shopping in the New England

Mom's Day Downeast

We went to Chester Pike's Galley on Rt. 1 in Sullivan, Me. for Mother's Day breakfast. Based upon passed experience, my wife and I both ordered the Lobster Benedict ($7.95) and a side of corned beef hash, to split. Chester Pike's is small and was crowded, but the waitresses were hustling. The Lobster Benedict otta be illegal. Its is very rich w/ wonderful flavor of diced meat and topped w/ smoked salmon. An oral food orgasm if I ever had one. The corned beef hash is the best I've ever eaten. It is more than 90% beef and less than 10% potato. The coffee was smooth w/ frequent refills. What a great meal and if ever Downeast, stop in for breakfast or lunch. Friday night fish fry and Sat night prime rib too.
We went for the day to our "camp" at Tunk Lake to open it up for the season. It was so cold and damp, I had to build a fire in the fire place. On the way home, we popped into Tracey's in Sullivan, Rt. 1, for a couple of $6.95 lobster rolls to hold us until supper. Just lobster meat, a little mayo on a toasted top split roll. Hit the spot.

      Hey Passadumkeg,

They should do a Downeast reality show about you, follow you around when you eat, etc.
