Upscale white linen lunch?

Edgar Cossett May 10, 2009 01:25 PM

Will be in Philadelphia both Friday and Monday at the end of May. Any thoughts on upscale lunch. I like le Bec Fin but haven't been in three years. Can anyone weigh in on Lacroix at the Rittenhouse (by comparison). On Friday I need to have a quiet place to make eyes at my bride. On Monday I need to impress the hedge fund younger bro (who said he still likes the turtle soup at Bookbinders). Suggestions?

Lacroix is fabulous. You can't go wrong. Their Sunday Brunch is one of the best in the city.

For the Monday maybe try one of the new steak places to impress the brother...Butcher & Singer, Union Trust...

Union Trust blows Butcher & Singer away, though the chef and menu have changed since I was at UT. B&S is not worth the money, you're better off spending a little more for a much better meal at Barclay Prime.
