Mystery meat - Please help me...

I found this in my freezer, unlabelled. I purchased it a couple of months ago from a farmers' market. I know it's beef, but I don't know what cut(s) it is and, therefore, how I should cook it.

There are quite a few meat masters on Chowhound. Please help???

    How much does it weigh? I'm not a meat master, but it kinda looks like a chuck steak.

      I have two of them, and hey each way a about 1.75 pounds. It was quite cheap, on sale, so perhaps you're right...

        Well, whatever it is, it doesn't look -to me- like the type of cut you'd cook quickly. Time to braise!

      Looks like chuck steak. There are lots of different things you could do with it, trim it out and grind it for burgers, cube it for stews, or you can marinate and grill. It just depends on what you like best and what the weather is like in your region. Do a google search or just ask for specific recipes.

          Thanks, everybody!!! I cut it up, removed some of the fat and gristle (our dogs are very happy!!!) -- don't worry, I left some fat!!! -- browned it, and am now braising in the oven with wine, veggies, etc., to make a stew. Already smells delicious!!!
