Cancun Mexican Grill

I was wondering if anyone had tried the newly opened Cancun Mexican Grill on Tunnel Rd yet. I went to the newly opened Papas & Beer on Tunnel Rd just after it opened and it was a disaster, yet I still see hoards of people outside waiting for tables, so I should give it another try. Hoping to find some good authentic Mexican fare like I used to get back in Los Angeles.

I am a big fan of Papas & Beer which is great California-Mex food. If you would like good authentic mexican food I would try Taqueria Fast (in Woodfin) or the flea market. Smiley's flea market has turned into a Little Mexico (I say that in a positive tone) and you can find several vendors. I believe Cancun used to be located on Patton and had to close when they demolished the building to build the new urgent care. It is average Tex-Mex food. I also like Vera Cruz it sits somewhere in between Tex-Mex and Cali-Mex but they tend to use fresh ingredients and also have a rockin salsa bar.

If its the same folks that had Cancun on Patton Ave. They also have/had several places in the Knoxville area that were quite good when I lived there in the mid '90's
