Suggestions for Trout in Salt Lake City and vicinity

I've heard of Market Street Grill and Lambs in Salt Lake City and Maddox Ranch House in Brigham City. Is the Trout good at any of these restaurants or are there any recommendations for someplace else....Prefer a place on the casual side...

  1. The last *excellent* trout we had here was over at the Wild Grape Bistro. I believe this was in our review here:

Their menu does change regularly, so you might want to give them a call:

    1. Anyone else?

Looking for something more traditional or "old school" and on the casual side.

Personally I would put the Wild Grape in the same category in terms of casual/price wise as the Market Street restaurants. It is however much more contemporary, that is true.

To be honest, it's not a fish I see on menu's *that* often, despite its abundance locally. Salmon and Halibut are the heavyweights. New restaurants coming up soon like Forage, Pago and Tipica, promising local sourcing might change things for the better.

Maybe someone else knows where to snag a good traditional trout?

Not old school by any means, but way yummy, along with plenty else on their menu.

The smoked trout club sandwich at Red Rock brewery.

        2. any other suggestions/recs?
