J. Pace article in Herald - new Seaport location

Interesting news in today's Herald about Pace in Southie. Good addition to the area for sure. It will be interesting to see how their grocery does. I suspect they will draw a huge lunchtime crowd for the Italian sandwiches and prepared food.

"if somebody needs an extra roll of toilet paper, sopressata and cheese or extra virgin olive oil"

Strangest sentence ever! Now if they only delivered I'd be soooooooooo happy! Southie is sorely lacking in the Italian sandwich category.

        Coutresy of Facebook:

        Seaport store Grand Opening.

Come by on Thursday, May 28 from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. for free food, Italian music, wine tastings and all sorts of fun! 225 Northern Ave in the South Boston Waterfront.

I hope they are giving away samples of their sausage and Italians.

I was down there this weekend. It is really a nice large space. A nice addition for the workers and residents of the area.

Awesome...that area needs a place like Pace's. Well, so does EVERY neighborhood, but this is a perfect place for them to expand.

Pace's is heaven on earth. I live in wakefield, right up the road from the Saugus store. I love Pace's!!!! Best italian cold cut sandwhich ever created. just wish it was a bit bigger.

I was visiting relatives in the midwest last week, and my cousin always laments that she can only get a good sub when she comes east. Day before we left, I went to the Saugus store, and asked them to get me enough cold cuts for about 8 large Italian subs. Also got the rolls there ( which wer fabulous!). Popped the cold cuts in a cooler for the drive out, and my cousin was so happy! I live in Melrose, but always get my cold cuts there. Funny- I am not crazy about their sausages. I prefer Doms in Malden

I agree, their rolls make the sandwhich. Also, i tried their sausages for the first time the other day and was not all that impressed. They were very good, but compared to Borelli's in Methuen, they were subpar. I have never tried Dom's but have heard they are great and will try them soon.

I was surprised I did not care for their sausages, as I do like almost everything else ( got their rack of lamb once, and it was great- though pricey) We bought the rolls on Monday, and they were still soft and fresh on Thursday. Will buy all my rolls from Pace's from now on.!
When I am feeling lazy, I buy the eggplant already breaded and fried, add my own sauce and enjoy eggplant parm!

I think their broccoli rabe, cheese and garlic sausages may be my favorite of any sausages you can get locally. I have had them from Dom's, Meathouse and Fowle's and I think they take first place in my book.
