Riva in Santa Monica and their polenta fries

I was referred to Riva by a fellow Chowhound member, and because I liked Fraiche so much I decided to take a look. First of all, the location is amazing - it is a short walk from the beach, and that by itself is a plus in my book. The restaurant was busy at 1:00 when we went for lunch, but we were seated in good time. Their lunch menu has a great array of options - pizza, sandwiches, salads, and pastas. I ordered a sandwich that reminded me of a BLT but much cleaner and with more style. For me, the highlight of the lunch was the fries - they are not made out of potatoes they were made out of polenta ( the texture was amazing, and it was a nice change from potatoes) I was too full for dessert but I saw them bringing out a dessert, and I will be back!
