We are attending a concert at the King Center Saturday night. Staying at the Hampton Inn Melbourne-Viera and looking for a chowhound friendly retaurant in that vicinity where we can eat prior to the show. Looking for moderate prices with some good beer choices. Thanks for your help!

      If you want a drink after the show, the Conch Key Grille has an outdoor bar & it's almost on your way back to the hotel. ( http://www.conchkeygrille.com/ ).

      Do call ahead with those restaurants on TomFl's list. I know for a fact that some of them have closed or have changed owners/names.

      It is pretty central,in the mid/south county.

      Here is a list to give you a start.

      Check the yellow pages to be sure they haven't fallen to the economy,or are closed that night.

        The list was thoroughly updated a few months ago. Surprisingly, there weren't too many to remove, and quite a few to add. I would appreciate an email anytime someone notices a restaurant has closed. Tom, please send me an email when you have a moment.

        River Rocks does have some interesting beers & wines (a full bar), along with an interesting menu, which you can see on their website. Their menu leans towards seafood.

        Charlie & Jake's has pretty good bar-b-q and brews their own beer. They also have a full bar. They're at 6300 Wickham Road, which is right on your way to the King Center ( http://www.charlieandjakesbrewery.com/ ).

        Even closer to where you're staying is Amici's, which serves very reliable Italian. They have Moretti on tap, along with a couple of other selections. They're beer & wine only. ( http://www.amicis-viera.com/

        )

        I can recommend all three, it's just a matter of what type of food you're interested in eating.

          Coincidentally my father in law sent me this link earlier today and asked if we wanted to eat at this restaurant the next time we visit them in Viera. http://www.riverrocksrestaurant.com/i...
          They had lunch there today and he said it was really good. Privately owned and recently remodeled. I guess it used to be a rundown place called Chowders.
