Columbus - Five Guys Burgers

I've been reading on the Chains board about 5 guys burgers. I see there are a couple in the Columbus area. What do you Cowtown Chowhounds think about 5 guys? Is it worth a trip up from Dayton?

I enjoy Five Guys but it's five minutes from my house. It's perfectly good for what it is...but worth a special trip from Dayton? Um, no. There are plenty of other places in Columbus that might warrant such a trip but I would not put Five Guys on that list.

If you were already in town and wanted to try it out to see if the fuss is worth it then I'd say go for it. However, it's not a destination restaurant...just a better than average chain selling better than average burgers and fries. There are many, many (locally owned) places in Columbus with better burgers. I don't know the Dayton food scene, but I'm sure you can find better there as well.

Thanks, for the input. Your right about there being a lot of good burger places in Columbus as well as Dayton. But, there are several other postings regarding Five Guys and I wondered what all the buzz was. Next time I'm up in Columbus I'll try it.
