Dinner in Plymouth Meeting

I'll be meeting my brother on Mother's Day for dinner in this area. We're not familiar with the restaurants. We'd like a suggestion, not too fancy, but good. Thanks.

I'm very sorry to say there is no great spots in PM. Blue Fin is the best of the bunch. From the Boot...is boot. The chains are, well.. Persian Grill is not as good as it used to be. Venture a little farther to San Marco or Blackfin. Damn shame Citrus closed!

I live in Lafayette Hill and I am sorry to be the bearer if bad news, but Plymouth Meeting and environs is a restaurant wasteland. So many chains. From the Boot is good, but it seems fantastic in comparison to everything else. It will be very hard to get in there to eat on Mothers day. A long wait is guarenteed.
Bluefin is closed on Sunday, that is the best restaurant in Plymouth Meeting imho.
I recommend you call Thai Orchid in Blue Bell. They have a nice atmosphere, good food, good service. It is not Thai food that will blow you away, but it is tasty. They have good desserts, too.

From the Boot is the ONLY PLACE that is good in the area.
These restaurants are way below average at best:
        California Pizza Kitchen
        Redstone
        PF Changs
        Benihana

          What's your definition of average?

From the Boot is amazing. It's BYOB. The rolls and food are to die for.

Just near the General Lafayette Inn on Germantown are The Lucky Dog (Bar Grill), From the Boot (Casual Italian)..and The Persian Grill (Middle Eastern/Iranian)...IMO, superior to Gen Laf and Brittinghams.
            Redstone is very nice too.

I was just thinking about Persian Grill--I used to love it but haven't been in years. Is it still good?

We've enjoyed 3 perhaps 4 visits in the past year. Enjoyable. I dont have a prior reference...but all in all very nice, tasty and pleasant service..

The General Lafayette Inn is a good choice, they are right off Germantown Ave about 5 minutes from Plymouth Meeting mall. They are a brewpub too.

Right next door is Brittingham's irish pub. Another good choice for a laid back meal.

Avoid the mall area if you want to avoid chains. If you need to stay in the mall, PF Changs and Redstone Grill would be the best choices.

Plymouth Meeting is mostly chain restaurants. One possibility along this line is Bertucci's in the Plymouth Meeting Mall.

There's a lot of new stuff at the mall...

                  California Pizza Kitchen
                  Redstone
                  PF Changs
                  Benihana

In addition, on Plymouth Road there's a new Mexican place called Plaza Azteca
