there used to be a joint i guess it would be late 80s and possibly early 90s that served sandwiches on croissant and served an asparagus soup in coffee or tea mug. it wasn't with the other food court oddities. anyone remember it, and better yet was it a chain of cafes.? i think it was basically soups and sandwiches on gourmet bread, at least for the time, a definnite precursor to all the cafes, urth, coral tree, et al.

  1. I remember that place too. If it is the place I am remembering they had the best cheese croissants. I used to work at the Broadway and would stop in there to buy on before going to work. Don't remember the name of the place. I worked at the Broadway until around 1982 and the diner was there.

Please let me know if you happen to gather the name of the place as well as any more details. Also, if anyone else happens to know any details that would be beyond great.

      Thanks.

There was a sandwich place called Chez Fromage next to the pharmacy. Great sandwiches on French rolls. Definitely late 70s and early 80s but I don't know if it lasted beyond that.

I think this joint actually lasted into the mid to late 1980s.
