Any great/very good pizza around Columbus Circle?

Hi, guys. We're in the middle of a 3 day food journey through NYC and are staying in Columbus Circle. Wondering if you can point out any high quality pizza in this area? We know of all the highly touted places outside the area, but we're a little subway weary right now and would like to walk to a good pizza place.

Adam and I agree on what are significant weaknesses with Angelo's. Too much bread, too little sauce, sparse cheese and overall too bland. The slice could pass for a warm microwave bruschetta with a little mozzarella thrown on top.

Angelo's on 57th between 6th and 7th is pretty good.. Certainly easily walkable from Columbus Circle.

I'll be starting in our Columbus Circle office in a couple of weeks, so that's good to know. Do they sell slices, or just pies?

Angelos? I have not been to Angelo's in a long time, so I will try it again. But the reason I have not been there in a long time is that the pizza has never been very good. Not "bad", just pretty tasteless. Could be corrected probably by dousing it in good olive oil, alla Difara (hmmm.... anybody ever try bringing their own EVOO to a pizza shop?)

Used to like Ralphs restaurant a few blocks down from there, but 20 years ago is a long time.
