I'm looking for a good place for dinner in the Rancho Park, Mar Vista, Century City, Westwood, Culver City general area.

Requirements:
Not too expensive ($15 range for entree)
Good or fun atmosphere
Alcohol

Thanks for your help!

  1. Akasha in Culver City has a nice atmosphere, and there are some entrees for about $15, like butternut squash gnocchi or a turkey burger... but the best thing is twice that, the short ribs. Great drinks, albeit not bargain basement.

Natalee Thai has a bright atmosphere, on Venice near or in Culver City. Much less of an it spot than Akasha is or once was but I like their food and enjoy the place... good drinks and really rich panang curry.

    1. Give Don Antonio's a try for solid Cal-Mex food with a lively scene and a full bar. The patio is nice when the weather is warm and they have very good albondigas soup for a starter if you're so inclined.

      1. Shamshiri in Westwood for Persian

        1. if you can be happy at a place that doesn't offer reservations, go to c&o trattoria at the mouth of the venice pier for huge portions of pasta and salads. they serve chianti by the glass.

the same folks run a slightly more upscale place farther west on the same street that they call c&o cucina. i believe that the cucina does take reservations, but they also have a few more costly entrees (i.e. seafood) in addtion to the pastas.

i apologize that my suggestions are west of your requested area.

Venice is not on the OP's list of neighborhoods.

There must be some places in Culver City that fit the bill, of <$15. Just not the most popular ones, like Ford's & Fraiche.

          2. The new Westside Tavern underneath the Landmark Theatre at the Westside Pavillion on Pico might suit your needs perfectly. They have great sandwiches and entrees for around $15 and fantastic cocktails as well. It's a cool place, and you can check out a movie afterwards!

            1. One other recommendation. Brunello's in Culver City. Friendly and casual vibe with good food and enough choices at the price point to make this a serious contender. Outside of downtown so street parking is usually no problem.
