Where to go to impress my friend from Europe.

Hello!
My friend is visiting from Europe. Where should we go on Friday night so we can impress him? We like good food (any) but love decor and ambience and fun places. Buddakan and Buddhabar is out.

    I think it has to be something that says "America". Something that they won't find so easy in Berlin or Barcelona or Budapest.

    Blue Hill
    a BBQ place? Smoke?
    A Southwest place? Haven't been to Mesa Grill in years, but that was fun and yummy
    Bryant Park Grill with cocktails upstairs first (do they still have this?) if the weather is nice?

      Is there a price range? Also, is there anything not to your friend's liking to narrow the field?
