Ever since we moved downtown I have become a fan of this place.
I find it incredible that his wraps and apple cake are delicious, but that he hardly sells any muffins!
I stopped in Saturday and he said business has been really slow and food costs have gone up. I really hope this great take out lunch spot doesn't end up being a recession casualty... to me it is small places like this with great people like Elias that give a city it's charm.
113 Jarvis St, Toronto, ON M5C2H4, CA
Yes, he makes excellend Falafel balls, and while he does not make them fresh for each order - at lunch he has thing incredible special with falafel balls, rice, salads, and a lot of other tasty AND healthy stuff for an incredibly low price for the amount of food you get.
I have had falafels made fresh to order that were not as good as his. And his chalkboards are filled with entertaining reading between the menu items!
AND Elias has an incredible memory for faces - if you have not been there before you get your first piece of apple cake free... and then you will be an addict like the rest of us. :)
He talks to his customers and asks their name and if he doesn't remember your name, he always remembers something you told him about yourself...
Hope you give it a try and let me know what you think Gary! And if you love the food please spread the word!
thanks for drawing me to this place...it's nearby my work but i had never thought to stop in. Popped in today with a co-worker for lunch everything is well priced here. I had the tuna pita yummy and my friend had the falafel which he noted was good. Spicy potatoes on the side were a nice touch too. Friendly service. I have a new cheap eats place near work. Oh and i almost forgot the free apple cake was delicious!
