Is there no homemade mochi in Las Vegas?
I was spoiled while in LA to have encountered Fugetsu-do mochi. I now crave it (the chocolate with ganache in the center!!) but, in Vegas, everyone thinks mochi is that cubed white stuff that goes on top of your froyo. Please... anyone have the locale of real mochi in Vegas? PPPPlease? The Whole Foods and local Asian markets here don't even carry mochi blocks so I can't make Moffles (mochi waffles).
Try the International Marketplace, on Tropicana and Decatur. Also, there is a small Japanese market (with premade things, nothing fresh, as in meat/veggies) called Tokyo in a shopping center on Silverado Ranch and Maryland Parkway.
Las Vegas can't even get CLOSE to LA's plethora of great Japanese markets. It's just not going to be so, sad to report.
