unusual delicacies in bangkok

Hi! I've taken a trip to Bangkok last April and while I always read about the unusual delicacies street vendors offer, I didn't really find a cart selling them.

I'm leaving for Bangkok again on June. I'm hoping to eat all the unusual food street vendors have to offer.

I might be staying at Amari in front of Pantip Mall. How do I get to those interesting food stalls from here?

Thanks in advance for whatever info anyone has to offer.

kmaye, at the junction of Petchaburi Rd & Ratchadamri Road (a few minutes from Amari Hotel), there's a vendor selling various types of roasted insects: crickets, bugs, etc. Is that "unusual" enough for you?

The problem is that these are "city bugs".

haha yeah...i guess I wasn't clear with that one. GeneraLLy, bugs and creepy crawlies. I don't know...I'm just curious and have always wanted to give it a go. Heard a lot about it in Bangkok and have been curious ever since.

        thanks for the suggestion!

insect vendors are pretty common, though it seems to be more a night time snack than a day time food. if you can't find them right on petchaburi road, there are vendors out at night on sukhumvit around soi 7 and on soi 4 for sure.

hmmm... what do you mean by unusual?

if you're staying at the amari, there are scores of street food vendors right on petchaburi road, tho they sell typical street food.
