The food is pretty dreadful in our experience. Stay with the simplest things on the menu.

i wouldn't go so far as to say 'dreadful,' but yeah, stick to simple. burger is decent. sandwiches too. don' t ask the kitchen to do too too much.

enjoy the show...the sound is good and the vibe is very nice.

You can sit at a table as long as you make the food & beverage minimum ($10, I think). My recommendation is to have drinks only and get food before or after elsewhere. That's what I have been doing for the last 3 times I have been there.

Went to great show last night. Time constraints dictated 6 pm seating. We had dinner there and as it turned out the food was indeed adequate. The field greens were very fresh and nicely dressed. The ribs although not the best were smokey, tender and not too sweet. Salmon and burger were fine. Can't report on the pie, Mrs. Doc ate the whole slice while i went to the restroom. I guess it must have been pretty good.

And Etta James was fantastic!

At places like that my eating philosophy is to play defense and eat what you figure they can ruin least. Can't remember what I've eaten there in the past. It was never memorable, but it was always edible.

BB Kings has two things going for it, besides the acts--great sight lines and great sound system/techs. Unfortunately, they squeeze you in like sardines (I always have to get an end of table seat, and won't seat partial parties, so everybody in your group has to get there when doors open if you want good seats.

We got to the line just after 6:00 and were seated at a booth. Better elbow and knee room.

Party next to us ordered the special of the night. two orders of Porterhouse for 2. Looked and smelled very nice and they were eating it with delight. Price was $82 for the big steak. Not outrageous considering the location.

Right about the sound quality. I used to be a live sound tech in my pre Doc days. Also maintenance tech at fabled Record Plant NYC studio. BB's is a very nice venue and great addition to the neighborhood.

Icon parking has a $10 coupon on their website but you can't enter before 6:00 and you must present self printed coupon and ticket stub for the same evening performance.

BTW I noticed an impressive selection of unexpected high end spirits. Not only the expected Macallan 12 and 18, but Balveenie, Blantons, Remy XO. Not extensive but many nice selections. Like a good juke box for hootch.
