Has anyone been? Im planning to go for happy hour but I dont want to go all the way to the westside if its not worth it. I love Bacaro, Cobras, Gjelina and Manchego. How does it match up?

There's a lot that I like about Bar Pinxto, but if BP and Cobras were side by side, I'd probably pick Cobras.

IMO, Pintxo is MUCH better than Cobras. Good, smart wine list. Not so much unique, or innovative, but tasty versions of Spanish standards in a fun setting. We go pretty regularly. Chorizo w/ quail egg, Mussels in salsa verde, anything with anchovies are good bets. Great ham, sometimes including the famous Jamon Iberico de Bellota. Tortilla Espagnola is fresh and delicious. One caveat: I live within a mile of the place.

Love Bar Pinxto, but haven't been in a while, and have read mixed reviews of it recently on these boards.

And for instance, I thought the food was good, but others found it lacking, recently. And, I probably wouldn't take my BF's Spanish husband there, he'd think it was a rip-off, but BF & I liked it much, and thought the wines were good & reasonable.
