Best Caterer in Pacific Northest

The_Foodaholic May 3, 2009 01:57 PM

I was just reading a side post on Gravlox and thought of the best Gravlox I have ever had, which led to the best Caterers I know. Landau's is without a doubt the best caterer in the Seattle area (and they serve the aformentioned best Gravlox in the world), what are your thoughts?

Funny you should mention Landau's, I have used them for a couple of occasions. Very good food. Would definately recommend them.

Here is a 2006 thread discussing caterers:

As you can see, I was very happy with A Grande Affaire. I've been to a couple of their promo tastings since then. They have maintained their quality.

I don't know if I've ever been to a Landau event. I do know that after a dozen or so catered events Ive attended in recent years, I haven't had anything as good as Grande Affaire.

I think Jeremy Faber is the best "caterer" in town - he does great local food.

Can't speak for Seattle, but in Portland (at least for big parties) I'd say Bruce Goldberg.

For the money, Voila Catering is the best. Yes, you can spend lots more with Art of Catering, but for half the price and half the attitude, check out voila catering. they are at http://www.voila-catering.com

just came across your post and had to mention a catering company that I am now in love with! The Organic Table Catering, based in Seattle, was absolutely amazing! I went to a wedding this past weekend and was stunned by the use of all organic and local ingredients. I have already booked them for my parents 30th anniversary in June :)

I really like City Catering. Their chefs are accomplished and have an emphasis on fresh, seasonal ingredients. For my wedding, their take on authentic mexican food, mole included, was so authentic that my guests called me afterwards to ask what restaurant they could get more of it at!

Additionally, they have a marvelous in-house pastry chef who is an absolute whiz. Her dessert selection for my wedding included, dulce de leche cupcake drizzled with caramel sauce, banana cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, chocolate chipotle cupcakes and yellow cupcake with mango buttercream. They were all so delicious that we ended up having mini cupcakes so everyone could have a bit of each type.

On top of all of that the service could not be better. They will handle all of your rental from linen to crystal, and they do all of their own staffing, including amazing bartenders. For my event, they created a menu of three different margaritas! In addition, a marvelous member of the waitstaff is assigned to the host or hostess to make sure that they have everything they need. Marvelous!
