Charles Chocolates now has Blue Bottle and pastries

I stopped by today for the first time in awhile and they now have a full espresso service with Blue Bottle (I had a cappuccino, which was good) as well as pastries - scones and muffins so far - I didn't have any of them, but the scones looked good (no more muffins by the time I got there). They are now open at 8 AM which is new (for those who want AM coffee). I don't recall the new hours specifically, except for the 8 AM opening.

  1. And where is this Charles Chocolates?

    1. Right here (my first attempt at adding a link). It's a nice little store in a neighborhood that could use one...I'm glad to see they're adding to their bag of tricks.

      1. I stopped by one of their first mornings. I was very disappointed that none of the pastries appealed to me, though they all looked lovely. They had some sort of cinnamony muffin, chocolate cherry scones and white chocolate ginger scones.

Actually, something I learned is that they are limited in what they can bake on premises because certain things (I think it is yeasts, etc) will interfere and ruin the chocolate/confection making, but I don't remember the details.

that makes sense. i do love scones, I just have an aversion to anything cherry flavored, and right now I'm opposed to ginger (though I expect that to be a short-term aversion). Those are the only two pastry related flavors i can think of that I don't want to eat these days!
