Madrid and Bilbao
Hi,
next week I fly to Madrid for the week and on the weekend to Bilbao.
1. Has anyone a comment or two on
Guisando, C. Núñez de Balboa 75 in Madrid?
2. I've been to Madrid several times over the years, always on business. So I've been to the expensive places (paella for lunch at 4pm in a suit etc).This time I'm there just to enjoy the city and would welcome more casual places. One place I stumbled upon 2 years ago was near the Toledo Gate. It was a bar that had a pot of snails cooking in a broth and nothing else. A plate of that and a bier came to 5 Euros and it was sooo goood! This is what I mean about casual.
3. In Bilbao I'll just roam around in the old town eating pintxos but I'm staying at the beach in Getxo, so any suggestions out there would be most welcome. Or in Bilbao directly also.
I've really enjoyed reading here and so as I've been to Barcelona, also on business, several times I'll pitch in on that topic soon. (I'll do some commenting on Cal Pep and Taktika Berri and Cuines Santa Caterina and on some hotels when those topics come up again.) I also have some wines to recommend and of course my favorite desert Sherry: Pedro Ximenez.
