Anyone know where I can find those in the East Bay-perferably in Oakland/ San Leandro area? I saw an article in the SF Examiner that recommended them and I want to try them out.

there is a nice liquor store on Hopkins near Monterey Fish that has them. They go for $16/jar. Sorry I don't know the name of the shop, but it's right in the heart of things.

The store, courtesy of Google Maps whose street view shows the awning with the name is:
      Monterey Liquors‎
      1590 Hopkins St, Berkeley, CA‎ - (510) 525-5323

Genoa Italian Deli on Telegraph in Oakland has amarena whild cherries for 5.29 a jar. Have gone through several jars on Mariposa Aviations! They seem just as good as the more expensive luxardos and we are pretty snobby about our cocktails.

I have purchased them at the Pasta Shop on College and 4th St.
