does clarified butter require refrigeration?

title pretty much says it all. will clarified butter keep in a jar in the pantry? if so, for how long?

    Clarified butter/ghee does not need refrigeration (though you can refrigerate it...it just gets very solid if you do). The pantry is fine. That's where I keep it, in a dark place...it stays semi liquid and ready to use.

    I cant speak for how long it ultimately lasts, though it certainly lasts for the 4-6 weeks that elapses between the batches I make. It's usually used up by then.
