Lunch near Healdsburg?

We're going to do a little wine tasting around Healdsburg and Cloverdale and are looking for thoughts on lunch as we have not been up there in some time. I have always liked Ravenous for dinner (not sure how lunch is or if they even serve it). I am also interested in Taverna Santi in Geyserville. Menu always looked great we just never tried it when visiting Healdsburg as we always wanted to stay local for dinner. Thanks for any recs (we're more interested in casual good food and possibly a sunny patio).

  1. I generally grab a sandwich at Oakville Grocery (they have really nice sandwiches, salads, and th like) then sit out on their pati. Right on the main square in Healdsburg.

    1. Bovolo is my favorite spot in Healdsburg for a great meal on a sunny patio.

Yes! I second Bovolo - great salumi and gelato. Nicely prepared food with great ingredients.

A note for dog owners - you can bring your pooch with you as long as you walk down the alley towards their patio - and enjoy your meal outside with your trusty companion. . this is a real boon to us because we like to road trip with our dog and it's nice to have her with us while we enjoy really great food.

Thanks for the replies. I think I've eaten at Bovolo (it's a shop/cafe located by the Inn on the Plaza) and recall it being very good.

No patio, but Scopa has been getting very good mentions. It is at the top of my to-try list the next time in Healdsburg. Reports and website on this Place link

Scopa is terrific, my favorite restaurant in Sonoma. It's more "Italian" than most Italian restaurants in the Bay Area, everything is fresh, it's as friendly as it can get, and it's conveniently on the square.

Scopa looks great. Unfortunately dinner only so not going to help us for lunch.

      2. Since you'll be north of Healdsburg, take the opportunity to eat in Geyserville at Diavola, the step-down restaurant for Santi.

Scopa has a one-table size patio, but is dinner only. Barndiva has a beautiful outdoor area. Bovolo is a favorite of mine for eating outside.

        1. we had lunch at barndiva in downtown healdsburg a few weeks ago and it was divine. they serve fancy american - for lunch we enjoyed perfectly cooked and rustically presented sliders, an incredible baked mac & cheese (and not just a small scoop but a heaping bowl), and some sort of soup that I can't remember - the gf hogged it and she was drunk so she didn't remember either, but it was good enough not to share. Also, one of the fanciest arnold palmers i've had anywhere.
