Help! Need Detroit area Mother's Day brunch suggestion

My wife told me about a month ago that she wanted to go to the Gandy Dancer for Mother's Day brunch. No sweat--I made a reservation. We've been there for a couple of brunches and even though I personally think the ambiance beats the food by a factor of about 3X, it's mama's day to be happy so we were all set. Two nights ago she does a 180, says G.D. has "been done" and asks me if I can find somewhere else (west side required--we live near A2) that's known for brunch. Can anybody help? Short notice I know so I've probably got no shot at anywhere good, but miracles happen.... Thanks!

Tribute in Farmington Hills is offering a brunch for Mother's day. Not sure if they are full or not.

Many of the Andiamo's are as well.

Thanks for the tip. I wanted to go to the Royal Park Hotel for brunch but waited too long and now they're sold out for brunch, so I made reservations at Andiamo Rochester instead. Last year we went to Gus O'Connors irish pub and while the food was good, I'm looking for a different atmosphere this year.

We had brunch at Andiamo's at Easter and it was really good.

It wasn't bad, but nothing really stood out to me either. I really need to try the Royal Park next time there's a family brunch outing. They have excellent service during the normal lunch hour and the setting is just beautiful.

    2. Moe's on Ten Mile (Farmington Hills) does weekly Sunday brunch. It's good.
They step it up a bit for Mothers' Day.

      1. I haven't been to the following for brunch, but I too am looking for a place and was originally thinking of the Gandy Dancer. My other choices are:
Five Lakes Grill in Milford or The Whitney in Detroit.

Thanks for the red on 5 Lakes Grill.
I have a party of 9, and they are full at 10AM, but they put me on a waiting list in case someone cancels.
Otherwise we'll be at Fench Laundry in Fenton.

          1. Big list of places in todays Freep (yay, an actual paper today!!)

At the Gandy Dancer that's being kind. I'm just not an Andiamo fan either. I just don't see the attraction there.
              My top picks would be;
              Meadowbrook Hall-Rochester
              The Townsend Hotel- Birmingham
Giulio & Sons Restaurant at the Hyatt Regency-Dearborn
              The Whitney-Detroit

              1. The Ritz Carlton Dearborn does a Mother's Day brunch. I've only ever eaten dinner there and not brunch, but the food was excellent.

                1. Mmmm.....That French Laundry in Fenton looks yummy. Write back and let us know how it was. We're often around the Fenton area, so I'll probably try it this summer.

I ended up going to Five Lakes Grill, but I have done the French Laundry in the past.
I prefer the Five Lakes Grill.
But both places I have an issue with the prices, but I guess that is to be expected on Mother's Day. Five Lakes was $23.50 and French Laundry was $24.95.
