I've had good uni at Yoshi's in Oakland, you might call Yoshi's in SF
Blowfish usually has a wide variety, even if I'm not in love with their fish generally

Sorry about the rainy day, enjoy your eating.

did yoshi have LIVE uni? i want to see spines moving or at least get to scoop the roe out of the sea urchin shell.

called sebo, not answering and not open until tonight anyway. we have dinner plans already.

I didn't see the scooping. It was a special, and it was very good and crazy fresh, but you're right, I don't know about the live.

    2. For uni fans, consider Lissa's Staff Meal at Ame. Also, they're not scooping them out from the urchin, but Sebo has high quality sushi.

It's late, but as far as crawling goes, you could check out the Ferry Bldg. Or go to the mission for a South Indian dosa and some Mexican.

crawled around the ferry building yesterday. did HH at hog island oyster co which was awesome. picked up meats, cheese from cowgirl creamery, and bread from acme.

what are your recs for dosa and mexican/taco trucks especially open late? want to hit them after dinner.

Udupi Palace for more authentic dosa and Dosa for a more yuppie dosa. They are right next to each other, so you can decide what works for you. Open until 10:30-11.

Poc Chuc for Yucatecan. You'll have to search the boards for truck recs. I eat at trucks, but they tend to blur together after awhile. Also in the Mission, there is Bi-Rite Creamery and Humphrey Slocombe for ice cream. Across the street from Bi-Rite is Pizzeria Delfina. If available, their cauliflower is like vegetable crack.

      2. You could try Koo or Sebo. It's around, but you may need to call a handful of places before you track it down.

        1. Probably too late for you, but Live Sushi Bar usually has live uni. and yes, they scoop them out right there.

          1. I saw live uni at Sushi Raw in the excelsior last week.

I think it was $14.50 last night for live uni nigiri.
