quince tree source

A friend of mine is looking to buy a quince tree this year. She doesn't want to get just a little one or two foot stick and is looking at an on-line source that will ship 4-5 foot trees. Its a little nobody company in Georgia and I'm sure she'll regret it. Does anyone know of a fruiting quince tree source in the Chicago area or a reputable on-line source----not the flowering/ornamental kind.

Don't mean to shoot you down, but Wayside is horrible! If you don't believe me, check out this reputable site that rates mailorder sources (you can also search by plant and they will tell you who sells quince trees)

I've had horrible experiences with Wayside--I'll spare you the details. I've dealt with many sources over the years--Wayside is simply the worst.
Most definitely not the way to go if you want large, healthy specimens!!

I haven't ordered anything from Wayside for over 20 years - Thanks for the update!!

    2. You might try Forestfarm. I've had very good luck with them and they have several varieties.

They are located in Oregon and the fruiting quince trees come in 5 gallon containers, so they are large. They pack well and everything I've ordered from them arrived healthy and safely all they way here in NJ.
