What's good in the immediate area?

What isn't? It's easier to ask what to avoid, in that area -- so many great restaurants.

    Chinois on Main
    Capo
    Whist
    Catch
    Cha Cha Chicken
Shutters restaurant (can't think of name)
    Salute
    Galley (yes, it's good)
    Anisette
    Bar Pintxo
    Via Veneto
    Chaya Venice

The last two are a 5 minute drive, but very good.

Shutter's is called One Pico, but I have had bad experience there and prefer the restaurant in the Casa del Mar Hotel across the street (both owned by the same company). And don't forget Tommy's.

Second The Galley. Order the fried shrimp. You will not be disappointed.

I've also heard great things about FIG. Copa D'Oro is a great place to grab a cocktail but has a very limited food menu. JiRaffe is also pretty close by.
